National Museum of Singapore – ‘Story of the Forest’
The highly interactive and vibrant show takes you down to a central main dome on a sloping, spiraled stroll. There are wide screens on the walls of the path which hug the curvature of the walls, rendering the visuals smooth at eye level. Projected from the displays is an interactive presentation of a woodland scene, allowing the audience to see different creatures in the foreground and background. You will also use your IOS device’s ‘Story of the Park’ feature to find out more about the species in front of you, including environment, diet and levels of endangerment. This can also be achieved in the exhibit’s central dome area, where you can even lie down and take a breathtaking moment to gaze upon the various plants. The innovative tech that is in play here is the central dome and state of the art projectors they utilize. Similar to the Puffersphere, these projectors project the scene in front of a visitor similar to the 360 degree feature on a go pro. You are totally immersed in the forest and it feels as if you are actually standing in an actual forest. The museum hopes to utilize more of these projectors in similar exhibits in the future.
